How to separate your business from your personal account

A mistake many start-up entrepreneurs make is not taking care of their cash flow. This makes them not differentiate their personal and business finances in their MPESA transactions.

Business is about solving problems that will make you money; and if you cannot know where your money is going or coming from, then your business is on the verge of collapsing.

Today, I want to share with you a simple way that will help you differentiate your personal and business accounts at no cost.

Steps: 1. Go to MPESA for business website (mpesaforbusiness.co.ke/LNM

2. Click APPLY NOW

3. M-PESA Business Till (Buy Goods Till) and APPLY

4. Click Individual (Settles to owner's MPESA Only) and apply

5. Fill in the details required and accept the Terms and Conditions

6. Safaricom will go through your details then will send you your TILL NUMBER.

7. Download the MPESA BUSINESS app which you will use to manage your transactions (Ingoing and ongoing)

NB: Make sure that for your business transactions, you use your TILL NUMBER and for your personal transactions, you use your personal phone number.

This way, you'll be able to manage your business and you'll know the income and expenses of your small business on a weekly or monthly basis
